Megan Zaniewski

Megan Zaniewski is an embroidery artist and author based in San Antonio, TX. Although exposed to needlework at a young age through her mother and grandmother’s work, she did not pick up embroidery until becoming a mother herself in 2011. She was drawn to the medium for its slow rhythm and tactile nature, as well as the satisfaction of seeing complex forms emerge over time, stitch by stitch. Megan specializes in 3-dimensional sculptural embroidery, and her work is largely inspired by the natural world. She spends a lot of time outdoors with her 3 children, who she homeschools full time. In addition to exhibiting her work, Megan teaches workshops and has authored two instructional embroidery books with C&T Publishing.
