Dia de los Muertos Community Art Altar
This year, Poetic Tiger Gallery hosts a Día de Los Muertos community art altar, inviting everyone to contribute and honor loved ones. The altar will celebrate the rich tradition of Día de Los Muertos, blending Mexican and Catholic customs in a joyful tribute to life and death.
Join Us: We welcomes the community to bring one original artwork, 5″ x 7″ or smaller (not for sale), in honor of loved ones who have passed. Submissions will be accepted from October 9th to 29th during business hours. In addition, visitors can participate in our gratitude jar, a ceremonial space for leaving messages to honor those who have profoundly impacted their lives that has passed on.
We will host a small Día de Los Muertos celebration on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 10 AM to 4 PM for contributors and the community to enjoy the powerful altar.

Día de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a deeply rooted Mexican and Mexican American holiday with rich traditions that blend pre-Columbian beliefs and Catholic practices. Celebrated primarily on November 1st and 2nd in Mexico (though dates may vary by region), it is a time to honor and welcome the spirits of the deceased as they return to visit the living. Families and friends gather to celebrate the cycle of life and death, focusing on remembrance and joyful reunions, rather than mourning.
