Introduction to Painting Birds With Watercolor & Mixed Media Techniques (Workshop)
Course Overview
This workshop is designed for artists of all skill levels who wish to explore the art of painting birds using a combination of watercolor and mixed media techniques. Participants will learn to capture the beauty and intricacy of birds through the fluidity of watercolor while enhancing their work with other mediums such as colored pencils, graphite, ink, and any other mediums they are interested in. The course encourages creative exploration, offering a foundation in watercolor techniques with the freedom to experiment and personalize each work.
Materials We Supply
– Watercolor (we will provide basic watercolors – if you have a kind you love bring your own)
– Watercups
– Plastic Palettes
– Pencils
– Paper Towel
– Watercolor Brushes
– Reference Image
Additional Materials
Since we only supply very basic watercolor supplies. We ask you to bring any mixed media supplies or tools that you might like to use. This can be anything you love to work with, such as colored pencils, oil sticks, paint pens, 3d elements, etc.
Instructor: Aunia Kahn
Aunia Kahn is an internationally recognized, award-winning contemporary artist, curator, and author with over 20 years of experience in fine arts. Known for her work various mediums, including watercolor, acrylics, colored pencils, and mixed media, Aunia’s work is celebrated for its intricate detail, vivid colors, and natural themes. Her art has been featured in galleries worldwide, and she has curated numerous exhibitions, published several books, and gained a reputation for blending traditional and experimental techniques seamlessly.
